What is Fairground?
Fairground is a decentralized perpetuals exchange that simplifies the economics of holding a position by removing periodic funding payments. Traders can take leveraged long or short positions across crypto, commodities, and FX markets, with trades executed at a single oracle price.
What trading strategies does Fairground support?
Fairground supports a range of trading strategies where periodic funding payments would otherwise influence the economics of maintaining a position.
Examples include:
-
Directional Trading: Take leveraged long or short positions across crypto and real-world markets without reoccurring funding payments. Whether holding a position for a short period or longer, there are no additional funding costs for maintaining it over time.
-
Funding Arbitrage: Use Fairground as one leg of a strategy involving funding rate differences across perpetuals exchanges. Because Fairground does not charge periodic funding payments, traders can maintain exposure without an additional funding payment on the Fairground side.
-
Hedging: Manage or offset market exposure through leveraged long or short positions. With no periodic funding payments, traders can maintain a hedge without recurring funding costs, particularly over longer holding periods.
-
Liquidity Provision: Provide liquidity through No-rush orders, and order type designed for market makers and experienced traders. Positions filled through No-Rush Orders are eligible to earn rebates based on market activity, position size, and holding duration.
